The Remote Consultant · Dr. Sebastian Brickel, PhD
Most AI initiatives fail before anyone sees results — not because the technology is wrong, but because governance, adoption, and alignment were never built in. In regulated industries, that doesn't just waste budget. It fails audits. I fix that, at the point where it gets messy.
Engagement Formats
For leadership teams in regulated, data-intensive environments — life sciences, medtech, and other compliance-heavy sectors — where governance and adoption matter as much as the technology itself. Pan-European, working in German, English, French, and Spanish.
A governance-first perspective on your AI and technology decisions. Monthly board participation plus availability between meetings — senior judgement without a senior headcount.
Enquire →Embedded strategic involvement on a defined monthly basis: AI roadmap ownership, vendor and technology decisions, governance and compliance oversight. The leadership layer, fractional.
Enquire →AI system inventory, EU AI Act risk classification, gap analysis, and a prioritised remediation roadmap — delivered as a written report with an executive readout. Know where you stand before the regulator asks.
Enquire →Governance-first AI training for leadership and operational teams: where AI actually creates value, what the EU AI Act demands, and a working adoption plan built on your real use cases.
Enquire →Background
I hold a PhD in Computational Chemistry and have spent seven-plus years across AI strategy, ERP, SaaS, and data transformation in Europe — including acting CTO responsibilities and advising executive leadership as an embedded specialist. I currently work inside a regulated medtech organisation, dealing daily with exactly the governance and adoption challenges I advise on externally.
My thesis is simple: alignment first, systems second. AI only where it creates real value, with governance built in from day one. Technology without adoption is expensive shelfware; technology without governance is a liability with a go-live date.
I am not the disruptor for disruption's sake. I am the architect of sustainable, evidence-based transformation — practical frameworks, no hype.
Proof of Work
One full-time employee. 150 prospects researched per week. 10–12 outreach emails sent per month. That was the ceiling — not because the person was underperforming, but because manual research consumed everything.
A multi-agent AI system: automated prospect discovery, enrichment, qualification scoring, personalised email drafting, CRM integration, and a self-improving search loop. Designed, built, and delivered in under two weeks — with human review kept in the loop where judgement matters.
European e-commerce sector. Client details confidential.
Speaking & Podcasts
Conference and panel speaking background from academia, including an award-winning presentation record. Available for conferences, podcasts, and internal leadership events — in English or German.
